Flooding

3.2 Flooding responsibility

The Environment Agency carries prime responsibility for flood control in major rivers like the Windrush. Their agreement would be the starting point in any scheme for new flood controls. However, there is also a responsibility for management of local flooding at County, District and Town levels. No single body has overall control. WING will therefore have to consult with a series of organisations and decision makers. Our approach to this is detailed in the main section of this report.
